Digital Girl, Incorporated was founded in 2014 by Executive Director, Michelle Gall a Digital Marketing and Branding Professional. Our mission is to encourage inner city youth, especially girls to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. We are motivated by the United States overall lag in producing an adequate number of STEM professionals and the under representation of women and people of color.
We are based in Bedford Stuyvesant where:

25% of residents are under 18

20% of the youth are disconnected (16‐24 not working and not in school)

32% live below the poverty line

only 8.6% are in STEM occupations.
Women who work in STEM fields make 33% more than women in non-STEM positions. Uplifting our women is key to bringing this community, and other communities in a similar circumstance, out of poverty.
Through early application, hands on training, mentorship, tutoring and social events Digital Girl, Inc. will boost confidence, raise self esteem and STEM career awareness within less fortunate areas to create professionals who can be positive contributors to society.
